Maoists trigger landmine blast

BERHAMPUR: Maoists triggered another landmine blast targeting the security personnel in Koraput district of south Orissa on Sunday afternoon.
This time they had targeted the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel involved in combing operation in Naryanpatna and Bandhugaon blocks of the district. Owing to alertness of the CRPF personnel, no major damage occurred. Two CRPF personnel received minor injuries.
The blast occurred at a culvert between Baunsaput and Katharagada villages on the Narayanpatna-Bandhugaon road at around 3 p.m. Following the blast, combing operation has been intensified in the area.
