Focus on tribals contribution to freedom struggle

KORAPUT: History could be re-written if the contribution of tribals in the freedom struggle was explored in detail, Girija Choudhury, a tribal researcher and script writer of the award winning play ‘Chandra Kutia’ said here on Thursday. While the play staged by Eski theatre group of Laxmipur was based upon the life of Chandra Kutia, a tribal freedom fighter from Malkangiri region who was also the disciple of the well known warrior of South India, very less was known to the common people of the region about his contribution till it was played in Koraput Natyotsav organized over the last few days by Koraput Cultuaral Society in collaboration with the District Council of Culture at Koraput.
