Chakrapani Parichha- A legendary Writer

KORAPUT: School libraries play a great role in building dreams in the children . And Chakrapani Parichha , the writer of more than 100 detective novels and a recognized play writer with more than 50 radio plays to his credit was born in 1974 at the age of 18 years . While recalling his childhood days Mr.Parichha who is now a school teacher in Boipariguda block of Koraput district , said that it was the little school library in his lesser known school in the same village which turned out to be instrumental in giving him a wide horizon to explore into the world of his dreams .
There were good number of books on the life of great people , novels , story books and literary magazines made available by the teachers for the children in those days , he recalled. While teachers and other elders use things like toys to divert the children from shouting and creating disturbances in the modern times , his teacher took support of books from the school library to keep them occupied , he added.
This had created more and more opportunity to read all the books in the library before writing the first detective story book “Gotiye Mrutyura Sandhanare” . He had not looked back since . While books after books got published by the publishers like Meghamala Publications from far off places , strength of readers was also growing in the region for his books . Recalling those days when the postman in Boipariguda was asking for the first book from the packet that was being sent by the publishers, he said that the postman was the first reader and a promoter of good writing among the masses .
The revolution in the literary world in the region that was brought by Mr.Parichha was like the history raised to the power of children's dream , Narayan Panda , eminent writer and literary observer from Koraput said while drawing the spirit of his words from a great Greek writer. 'Pakhi Payeen Gitotiye' , the recently published collection of Mr. Parichha's immortal poems was the imprint of such a revolution , he added.

Plight of a Tribal Woman Suffering From Disease

Chief Minister's Relief Fund which was established with a mission to support the poor for minimizing their suffering from diseases , seems to have failed to reach the common man for its complexity and alleged lack of interest among the service providers to extend the facility to the people .At least this was true with Mahima Goudo , a poor woman from Ghodadwar village in Koraput block who has been moving from pillars to post for the last 13 years to get relieved from the serious infection in her chest while spitting out the sputum added with drops of blood .
She was admitted into the district head quarter hospital a long time back , hospital sources said . But it was not conformed whether she was suffering from TB or some other chest disease , the sources added. While she was given some anti TB drug in the beginning , she had not responded to the drug and had discontinued taking them as it was more painful , Mahima said .
Since then she was taking some medicines by purchasing from the open market . But as things got worse she was asked to leave her in-law's house. She continued to suffer from the disease and without any support , not even from her husband , she was forced to stay with her parents for all these years, she said . But with her worsening health condition and poor financial condition of her parents , she wished to be of a lesser burden on her ageing parents . There was no support from the health service providers to fight back her illness , she alleged .
At last she came to know about the CM's relief fund and had approached the local MLA with all the details of her illness . Taraprasad Bahinipati , MLA , Koraput had sent his recommendation to the CDMO's office . But here too she had failed to get the support from the social security measures of the society . She broke down with tears today in front of the emergency officer after learning that her request was turned down by the authorities as her case was not fit for getting the support even from the CM's relief fund .
