Panel formed for school centenary celebrations

KORAPUT: Centenary celebration committee of Ex-Board UP Schoolt was formed at a meeting held on the school premises here on Sunday . The school, which was established in 1910, will celebrate its centenary in the first half of 2010.
Former students of the school like Capt. A. Nilakantham, Parikhit Choudhury and Er. D.S.N. Murty, who are also senior citizens from Koraput, recalled their memories of their childhood days with their teachers and friends in the boundaries of the same school in 1947 and 1948. The committee chalked out different plans to maximize the participation of the former students during the celebration.
A special room in the school has been allotted for the committee and efforts will be made to contact former students even those who were working overseas, Narasingh Das, secretary of the celebration committee said .
