Injured member of CMAS dies

KORAPUT: Suresh, one of the two inured supporters of Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh (CMAS), Bandhugaon succumbed to his injuries on Monday.
While the district administration had tried to pacify the situation in Narayanpatna and Bandhugaon with Gadadhar Parida, district Collector, Koraput visiting personally to both the blocks to hold discussions with the two factions of CMAS for maintaining peace in the region, situation at Laxmipur turned violent on Monday evening.
People came out in hundreds and blocked the State highway at Laxmipur to impress upon the district Collector who was on his way back to Korpaut district headquarter, urging him to prevent the proposed rally by the CMAS, Narayanapatna at Laxmipur on Tuesday.
People at Laxmipur, meeting the district Collector and Asish Kumar Singh, SP, Rayagada who is also incharge of Koraput district to remain at Laxmipur till Tuesday to take control of any possible violence that might erupt out of the proposed rally, as groups of people in Laxmipur block had already announced their resistance to such a rally by CMAS, Narayanpatna.
