Central University holds induction meeting

KORAPUT: The first induction meeting for the students of Central University of Orissa was held on its campus office premises at Koraput on Tuesday . Prof. Niladrinath Das , from the Dept. of English ,V.D. College, Jeypore, complemented the university for adopting syllabus matching universities of global importance. Apart from having a qualitative syllabus, availability of good libraries managed by Council of Analytical Tribal Studies (COATS) and Tribal Culture Research Center (TCRC) would prove beneficial for the students, Jagabandhu Samal, retired professor of economics said.
It was up to the students how much they could extract from the rich resources available for them even at places like Koraput. Advent of internet has also minimized the differences between the advanced places and the developing regions of the world. Students could fulfil their desire to acquire any amount of knowledge using these tools, he added.
Students from all the five departments of the university along with their parents and guardians attended the meeting. While the induction programme for the students was done on Tuesday, the classes would begin on September 16, Madan Mohan Patro, of the university said.
