Scientist stresses better research facilities

KORAPUT: Genetically modified mosquitoes can make human synthesized antibody that block malaria parasite inside the mosquito gut, said Dr.Kailash Prasad Patra, scientist from Department of Medicine, University of California San Diego, USA ,while addressing the students of Talent’s College of Science & Technology at Koraput .
Highlighting the importance of hard work in achieving success, he said that he was working to develop a vaccine against malaria so as to prevent suffering and death due to malaria in developing countries like India. However he expressed his concern over the inadequate facilities for research available in the country forcing the researchers to go to other countries.
He took part in a seminar on bio-technology and health care at Damanjodi.
