KORAPUT: Nihar Ranjan Patnaik, an eminent advocate from Koraput was appointed on Thursday as the special advocate to raise the claim and defend land related cases in favour of the tribals of Narayanpatna and Bandhugaon blocks in Koraput district. The appointment was given by Gadahdar Parida, district Collector , who is also the chairman of OTELP in the district and would bring an opportunity to safeguard the land interest of tribals, Nihar Patnaik, said. According to the assignment letter that he had received, he has been given the responsibility to safeguard the interest of all the tribals in the court of OSD (L&R), Sub-Collector and Tahsildar in Koraput sub division in matters related to forest land, he added. -Correspondent
