Derailment hits train services
KORAPUT: Train services were disrupted between Koraput and Rayagada following derailment of a goods train near Lilligumma at around 4 a.m. on Monday.
While Hirakhand Express, the train from Bhubaneswar to Koraput, had to return from Rayagada, Samaleswari Express, the train from Koraput to Howrah, and DMU passenger from Koraput to Visakhapatnam via Rayagada were cancelled at Koraput. Three bogies of the goods train were derailed and hence it was difficult to restore the rail service for the day, S.R. Hembram, station manager of Koraput railway station, said.
