Public hearing held
KORAPUT: Many hill tribes in the district either lack access to land or even a secure stake in the land they till . As a result , there is acute poverty added to related problems, said Bidyut Mahanty, secretary , SPREAD , a civil society organization working on land rights of the tribals in the district. He was speaking at the public hearing on land, being organized at Tribal Museum on Tuesday. There were complains from people that the land encroachers against whom they had won cases were not agreeing to vacate the land. Gadadhar Parida, district Collector, promised support from the administration.
