Nalco bags Best Practices Award

KORAPUT: Nalco, India’s largest integrated aluminium maker & a Navratna company , has added one more feather to its cap by bagging ‘Best Practices Award’ for this year, said S.K. Patnaik, Dy. General Manager (SH&E), Nalco at Damanjodi on Friday.
The award for best practices in environment, safety & health was given to the company by Chief Minister Navin Patnaik at a special function in Bhubaneswar recently.
This award received by Nalco, especially, Mines & Refinery Complex, Damanjodi is in addition to the Pollution Control Excellence Award received from the Pollution Control Board, Orissa earlier this year in recognition to the efforts by the company in the field of safety, health and environment in and around the Mines & Refinery Complex at Damanjodi, he added.
M&R Complex strives towards keeping the adjacent environment clean and pollution free.
For being an ISO: 14001 standard plant, it maintains efficient systems, like, strict maintenance of Ash, sewage, chemical waste disposal through well-maintained Ash Pond and Red Mud Pond, he said.
