Central university V-C happy with campus work

BHUBANESWAR: Founder Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Orissa Surabhi Banarjee here on Wednesday said despite several infrastructural bottlenecks at Koraput the progress in setting up of a full-fledged central university was satisfactory.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Ms Banarjee said housing and drinking water connection was major problems at Koraput but CUO authorities were sorting them out. “CUO, Koraput stands out among other central universities being simultaneously set up in terms of their progress,” she claimed.
Talks were on with a nearby private college to use their buildings for hostel facilities, Ms. Banarjee said. CUO was using buildings acquired from central silk board in Koraput.
On permanent infrastructure, CUO Vice Chancellor said construction of boundary wall on site allotted to universities was on and the master plan was being drafted by architects with green-campus expertises.
She said the CUO instituted several memorial and endowment lectures .
