KORAPUT: Vehicular traffic came to a standstill in Koraput, Nowrangpur, Malkangiri and Rayagda districts following the bandh call given by the respective district units of the Congress on Monday. The workers were agitating against the alleged negligence of the government towards the educational development. It was for the centralised selection procedure adopted by the government to allot seats for pursuing career in CT, B.Ed., DIET, ANM and ITI institutions, the students of this region were deprived of getting a seat even in such institutions opened in these districts, Taraprasad Bahinipati, former MLA of Koraput and Congress leader alleged.
