Fertilizer hoarding alleged

KORAPUT: Agriculture could be hit badly if the shortage of fertilizers like potash was not managed effectively in Koraput district , Sujay Pradhan ,a leading coffee planter of Koraput said . While the government had fixed the price of potash at Rs228 per bag it was sold at a higher price in the market , he alleged . According to sources the district had received 1107 tons of potash a few days back . But the fertilizer was hoarded. Farmers staged demonstration before the office of Deputy Director of Agriculture at Jeypore demanding proper supply of fertilizers at correct price.
